Who do you say that I am?

 Earlier, I watched a movie entitled "God's Not Dead 2", I'm pretty sure that some of you already watched it. Through out the movie, there is one question that really caught my attention, that is "Who do you say that I am?". It is a simple question that every christian should answer easily, but the real question is, how well do we know God?

          I have been a christian for 6 years, I know and hear the name Jesus and God since I was young, but I haven't really known God that time. During my high school years, one of my best friends started to share the gospel to me, he explained how God can change my ways, my view about life, and how a simple decision can change the direction of my whole life. My best friend asked, "Bro, alam mo ba na pag tinanggap mo si Jesus Christ as your Savior, kailangan mo din syang tanggapin as your Lord." Why? In order to attain that life that was meant for you, the future that you were meant to have, you have to follow the steps or the procedure that God intended for you to follow. Now we have seen Jesus' position in our life, He is our Lord and Savior. But did we think or did we ever wonder that our God can be something more than being our Lord and Savior? How are we going to know what other attributes our God has? Let's see.

·         Read God's Word (The Bible)

          Some say that the Bible is actually Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth. So it is a manual left in order for us to prepare for our Home. And it is also one way of knowing our Creator. Yes, you read it right. God is our creator, He created this earth and all living things in it. He can do whatever He wants to do and we do not have the right to object, why? Because He is the one reason that we are alive. Apostle Paul said that he considered his life worth nothing to him, if only he may finish the race and the task that the Lord Jesus Christ has given to him (Acts 20:24). One way of knowing God is to read His word. There is no better way to know how a product's creator and how a product works than reading the manual that is prepared for us. Do you read God's word? Is He talking to you using His word? Did you know some of His attributes by reading His word?

·         Prayer

          Did you know that once you accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, you regained that very one thing that humanity lost after the first sin happened? Relationship. Yes, during the creation, God created the earth, the living things in this world, and most especially Adam and Eve, and everything was perfect. Until the first disobedience happened. Adam and Eve ate the fruit of Knowledge of Good and Evil whom God told them not to eat. During those times, the relationship that God and us used to have was broken. Have you ever seen a relationship without communication? If yes, do you think it will work out? I don't think so. One way of getting to know your partner is by having a direct communication to him/her. That's what God wants. In order for us to get to know Him, He wants us to talk to Him and tell Him all the things that's happening in our life. And by doing that, we may know what other characters God have.

         

"So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock ad the door will be opened to you."

-Luke 11:9

          If we want to know God more, show Him that desire, and surely God will reveal himself to you. As your relationship with God gets deeper, so is your understanding and knowledge about who He is and what He can do for the rest of your life. Life life to the fullest, live it for God and you will be prosperous and successful.
